Frack Free Lancashire is an umbrella group for many smaller community and resident groups all with the single aim of stopping fracking in Lancashire. It is widely recognised, both in the UK and overseas!

In June 2015, after careful consideration, Lancashire County Council rejected the applications for both sites on legitimate planning grounds.

On October 6th 2016, the Secretary of State, Sajid Javid gave Cuadrilla the green light to begin hydraulic fracturing at one of the Lancashire sites, Preston New Road and put the site at Roseacre Wood ‘on hold’.

Frack Free Lancashire supported Roseacre Awareness Group at the re opened Public Inquiry in April 2018.
The Secretary of State finally turned down the Roseacre application in February 2019

Cuadrilla caused earthquakes while fracking both wells at Preston New Road in 2018 and 2019 meaning that a moratorium was imposed on fracking in December 2019.

Of course a moratorium is not a ban and we continue to work towards an outright ban on hydraulic fracturing and its associated processes.

If you could help with a donation, no matter how large or small, it will go towards fighting fracking in Lancashire. Ways of donating are listed below.

Thank you for helping.
